How will my child benefit from one-on-one tutoring?

Your child will appreciate the benefits of having a personal tutor to discuss their learning difficulties and issues that cannot be easily resolved at school. Hunter Mobile Tutoring students receive a dedicated tutor who will pinpoint their learning needs in the comfort of their own home and without the added stress of having to attend another class after a long day at school.

What types of tutors are available?

We have a large range of tutors to fit most people’s needs. Our tutors are experienced and qualified teachers or university graduates/students with relevant degrees.

How do you select your tutors?

Tutors are required to complete a three-stage selection process, which includes a face-to-face interview. Police records are checked and all tutors are screened and registered with the Department of Education’s national checking system – “working with children”. Tutors are selected on their academic background, skill level and experience, personality, manner, motivation and reliability.

What locations do you offer tutoring in?

We offer tutoring in all areas of the Hunter ValleyLake MacquarieNewcastlePort StephensWaggaTamworth and Lismore.  We are fortunate to have a diverse team who are able to cover most locations in our region.

Where can the tutoring take place?

Tutoring can take place in either the convenience of your own home, or at an agreed location with the tutor, such as a library or workplace.

What times are your tutors available?

Hunter Mobile Tutoring will work around your schedule! We have dedicated tutors available year-round, 6 days a week (Monday – Saturday) for morning, afternoon or evening lessons.

How many lessons can I have?

You can have as many or as few lessons as you wish. The minimum time for a lesson is 30 minutes. Lessons typically last for 1 hour.

What is the equivalent hourly cost for tuition after taking into account your registration cost?

The following examples highlight the equivalent hourly cost for the average family:

Example 1: Lachlan is a primary school student who receives 45 minute tuition sessions.

  • Based on one session per week the equivalent hourly cost is $49.00 per session.
  • Based on two session per week the equivalent hourly cost is $39.50 per session.

Example 2: Shannon is a Year 8 student who receives 1 hour tuition sessions.

  • Based on one session per week the equivalent hourly cost is $55.oo per session.
  • Based on two session per week the equivalent hourly cost is $45.00 per session.

Example 3: Jessica is a yr 11 HSC student who receives 1 hour tuition sessions.

  • Based on one session per week the equivalent hourly cost is $60.00 per session.
  • Based on two session per week the equivalent hourly cost is $50.00 per session.
